System integration in concrete placement
The wheeled placing boom operates as the terminal distribution unit in the concrete delivery chain. Concrete is pumped from ground level via a stationary or truck-mounted line pump through a delivery pipeline. The PB17D-3R receives the material and maneuvers its articulating arms to deposit concrete precisely across the work area. Upon completion of a section, the unit is towed to the next zone, and the pipeline is extended accordingly.
Deployment criteria
Wheeled mobile placing booms are specified for projects requiring frequent lateral movement, such as large slabs poured in sequential bays, long foundation trenches, and congested sites with strict crane schedules. Where crane access is readily available and the lightest lift unit is required, spider booms are deployed. The PB17D-3R provides the necessary ground mobility to maintain continuous concrete distribution across horizontal planes.
