Column-climbing placing boom series
The PB33A-4R-II is the 32.4 m model in the column-climbing placing boom series, which includes the 27.7 m PB28A-3R-II, the 31.7 m PB32A-3R-II, the 32.6 m PB33D-4R, and the 34.7 m PB35A-4R-E. The comprehensive B8 series provides six mounting configurations: column-climbing, formwork-climbing, mobile spider, wheeled mobile, lattice tower, and mobile boat booms. The column-climbing configuration is deployed for internal vertical progression within high-rise structural cores.
System integration with concrete pumps
The placing boom operates as the terminal distribution equipment in high-rise applications. Concrete is transported to the site and pumped vertically via a stationary or truck-mounted line pump through a fixed riser pipeline. The PB33A-4R-II interfaces with the riser to distribute concrete across floor decks, shear walls, and columns, completing the vertical and horizontal delivery sequence.
3-section vs 4-section configurations
The 3-section (3R) booms, such as the PB28A-3R-II and PB32A-3R-II, are optimized for open floor plans. The 4-section (4R) booms, like the PB33A-4R-II, incorporate an additional articulation point to maneuver the delivery hose through dense rebar and congested structural layouts. Selection between 3R and 4R models depends on the specific structural density and required maneuverability on site.
