The PB36-4R-E is the largest-reach model in the TRUEMAX column-climbing placing-boom line. Its four-section boom places concrete over a 35.6 m radius — the widest coverage in the climbing range — so one set-up reaches across floor plates that smaller booms would cover from two positions. Unlike the earlier flagship, the PB36 keeps a full 21.6 m free-standing height, which means the climbing frame ties into the structure at standard intervals even with the longer boom. A 22 kW motor at 30 MPa drives the boom, and the delivery line steps up to Φ133 pipe for lower resistance at high flow rates.

The PB36 is a self-climbing placing boom: it rides up a floor frame or a core / shaft frame as the building grows, fed by a separate stationary concrete pump through a vertical riser, and distributes that concrete across the deck by remote control. It is rated for the full -20 °C to 55 °C operating range, runs on a 380V/50Hz supply, is built and tested at the TRUEMAX factory in Haining, holds ISO 9001:2015 and CE certification, and belongs to a placing-boom line working in more than 120 countries.

Dimensions & Working Range

Swept through 360°, the 35.6 m radius covers a circle about 71 m across from one position — the largest single-set-up footprint in the climbing range. The long 12.65 m first section does most of the horizontal work, with the three shorter arms folding for close-in placing around the core. The 21.6 m free-standing height matches the mid-size models, so the climbing frame follows the same tie-in intervals shown on the structural drawings.

The PB36-4R-E is the boom for the biggest pours — wide floor plates and major towers where maximum coverage from each position saves pour time and climbing set-ups.

Large-floor-plate and landmark towers

On wide commercial floors and landmark high-rise, the 35.6 m radius reaches across the slab in one sweep, cutting the number of climbing positions needed to pour a full floor.


Large cores and shafts

With a shaft frame the boom climbs a large core or lift shaft and still reaches the full surrounding deck, suited to buildings with a substantial central core.


High-volume structural floors

FAQs

Why choose the PB36-4R-E over the other column-climbing booms?

Coverage and rating. At 35.6 m it has the largest radius in the climbing range — wider than the 35 m PB35A, the 32.6 m PB33D-4R, the 32.4 m PB33A-4R-II, the 31.7 m PB32A-3R-II and the 27.7 m PB28A-3R-II. It also keeps the full -20 °C to 55 °C temperature rating that the PB35A trades down to 48 °C. The cost of that size is weight: 19,181 kg installed and a 9,037 kg maximum lifting unit, which sets the erection crane size. Choose the PB36 when floor size and climate make the extra reach and full rating worth the heavier lift.

How does it keep a 21.6 m free-standing height with the longest boom?

The boom sections are balanced differently. The PB36 runs a long 12.65 m first section with three shorter folding arms, keeping the centre of gravity closer to the column than a four-long-section layout. The boom can therefore stand 21.6 m unbraced — the same as the 32 m-class models — while the PB35A's longer evenly-matched arms require bracing at 16.2 m. In practice the boom is tied into the structure as it climbs, so both machines serve the same floor heights; the PB36 just follows standard bracing intervals.

Is it a pump, and how does it climb?

It is a placing boom, not a pump: a separate stationary or line pump feeds concrete up a riser, and the PB36 distributes it across the floor by remote control. It climbs on a floor frame or shaft frame, jacking itself up as the structure rises — one climbing cycle covers roughly two floors, and no crane lift is needed between floors.

What pump and pipeline does it need?

Any stationary or truck-mounted line pump with enough pressure for your building height. The placing boom only distributes; the pump sets the vertical reach and output. We size the riser and reducer to the Φ133 boom line, and the 5 in × 3000 mm end hose is standard. Send the building height and target pour rate and we will match the pump and riser specification.

How large a floor can it cover from one position?

Slewing 360° at 35.6 m, it places concrete anywhere within a circle roughly 71 m across from a single climbing position — the largest in the range. Bigger plates are handled by relocating the climbing frame or running more than one boom.

What crane is needed to erect it?

Size the erection crane against the maximum single lifting unit: 9,037 kg, the heaviest in the climbing range. Total installed weight is 19,181 kg. We supply the unit weights and lift radii for each module with the erection drawings so your crane plan can be checked before delivery.

What is supplied, and how is it shipped?

The package is the boom, lower support, hydraulic pump station, control cabinet and remote. Columns, the floor or shaft climbing frame, delivery line, hose, spares, installation and commissioning are configured to your building and quoted separately. The PB36-4R-E sits at the top of the TRUEMAX column-climbing line for reach: 35.6 m, above the 35 m PB35A, 32.6 m PB33D-4R, 32.4 m PB33A-4R-II, 31.7 m PB32A-3R-II and 27.7 m PB28A-3R-II. The smaller booms are lighter and cheaper to erect; the PB36 answers with the largest single-position coverage, a full-height free-standing rating, and the widest temperature range in the family. For smaller plates or sites with limited crane capacity, one of the shorter models fits better.

How the placing boom completes the pumping line

In a high-rise pour, concrete moves from batching plant to truck mixer to a stationary or line pump that lifts it up a riser to one point on the floor. The placing boom turns that point into floor-wide reach — and with 35.6 m of radius, the PB36 turns it into the widest reach in the climbing range. One operator places the whole floor by remote while the pump feeds concrete continuously up the riser.

Sizing reach to your floor plate

The right placing-boom radius is the one that covers your floor from as few positions as possible without over-buying machine. A boom that reaches the floor edge from a central core means one set-up per floor; a shorter boom may need two. The PB36's 35.6 m radius pays back on big, repetitive floors where smaller booms would force extra positions — its coverage returns pour time and labour on every level. Where plates are modest or crane capacity is limited, the lighter models remain the better value.
